What are DataDots
DataDots are tiny microscopic polymer discs 1mm in diameter and about 4/1000ths of an inch thick, about the size of a grain of sand, they are laser etched with unique information that is linked to your property and to you. Hundreds or even thousands of tiny DataDots are applied to a protected asset with a water based adhesive containing an ultra-violet trace. Although nearly invisible to the naked eye, DataDots can be easily found by using a simple ultra-violet light.
The DataDot database is accessible by law enforcement agencies 24 hours a day, allowing instant identification.
DataDots are primarily a theft deterrent, however they are recognised as being one of the most effective ways of preventing theft and play a crucial role in the recovery and return of stolen goods.
